Meet Victoria - SoulCycle instructor, Under Armour athlete, and meditation coach!

Meet Victoria Brown: Super Coffee brand ambassador, Senior Soulcycle Instructor, Under Armour Athlete, Life Coach, Certified Trainer, Meditation and Breathwork facilitator, lover of life, and SUPER dog mom. Victoria is all about building community around finding stronger versions of who we already are, together. She realized long ago that our paths are not linear, and the journey to our Very Best Self is always ongoing. She’s a self-proclaimed self-help junkie and loves all things personal development! We sat down with Victoria to learn her secrets to living a life full of Positive Energy.

Why did you start a career in fitness?

I've been an athlete all of my life. I played year-round sports growing up, including volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, and I swam on a team in the summers. Starting a career in fitness was a natural progression for me. 10 years ago, I was living in Los Angeles and started attending group fitness classes. I found that I was able to tap into a sort of euphoric feeling when I was in the middle of pushing through a physically demanding challenge. Suddenly, I could channel my energy, or whatever obstacles I was facing in my personal life towards what I was physically aiming to overcome in the moment. I gained a mental clarity that gave me an edge in everything I did beyond my workouts. I decided I wanted to facilitate that same kind of motivation in others. I've been training people, building community, and motivating rooms full of SoulCycle riders for almost a decade now, and I feel I am fulfilling my calling in life- to inspire others to their own greatness.

What motivates you to stay positive, especially in these trying times?

There's a famous quote that I try to remember often: "Staying positive doesn't mean that you have to be happy all of the time. It means that on the hard days, you know better ones are coming." I am motivated towards positivity because I understand that human emotions are a normal part of life. That we are supposed to experience highs and lows and together, they make us whole. I also know that in any given moment I get to choose how I want to feel because we are the creators of our own realities. And, while life has been a mixed bag as of late and more difficult to navigate, we can choose to believe that this too shall pass, and we will all get to the other side in due time.

We love quotes here at Super Coffee. What's a quote, saying or mantra that inspires or motivates you?

My favorite quote will always be a lesson learned from my grandfather. He told me to "always lean in the direction you want to go in, and you will eventually arrive." It reminds me that life begins to unfold and reveal itself as we step, but we have to have the courage to keep stepping.

What's the first thing you do in the morning?

I meditate. Before I brush my teeth, before I drink my coffee, before I do anything, I sit for at least ten minutes and focus on my breath. I find so much more clarity in my day when I spend time with myself first thing in the morning. My meditation practice sets the tone for the rest of my day. Meditate -> then, caffeinate.

Tell us about your daily routine and go-to rituals that keep you feeling positive and energized.

I created a journaling practice that I love! I call it I Am, I Am, I Will, I Will. I try to do this everyday after I meditate. The prompts and explanations are below for anyone who wants to try it out!

I AM grateful for:

1)

2)

3)

This first prompt is meant to bring you to your present moment. To ask yourself what you are thankful for in this very moment you’re in. A heart filled with gratitude, welcomes in more goodness.

I AM proud of:

1)

2)

3)

We are so hard on ourselves! We worry so much about what we haven’t accomplished and how far along others are, that we forget to be proud of where we’ve been and all that we have already conquered! Take a moment to remind yourself of what a badass you actually are in all that you’ve done!

I WILL accomplish today:

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

This is your hit list! The top five things you know you want to get done today! Prioritize these things, cross them off as you go!

I WILL accomplish in the future:

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

Write these in present tense as if they have already happened! These are your big, crazy, audacious goals! Write them from the perspective that they have already happened- that’s how we manifest our big dreams! Also, I write the same 5 every time!
